The Rosso family is proud to serve the community and lead a business built upon three generations of strong family values with a commitment to quality and service above all.
Our family patriarch, Jaime Rosso sr. unexpectedly entered the furniture industry in the 1960's. He owned a jewelry store in San Bernardino when one day he had a couch delivered for his home. It was too large to fit in the store, so it remained outside and a customer asked if the couch was for sale. He initially said no, until more customers inquired about the couch and he eventually sold it. He bought another couch in the same style, and that sold as well. Before long he had bought and sold ten of the same couches. The rest, as they say, is history.
Jaime senior closed the jewelry store and opened Rosso's Furniture during the height of the drive-through era. He modeled his store design to replicate a drive-through, with a showcase of 24 street-facing displays, 12 on each side and color coordinated for easy ordering from your car. From the beginning, it was a family business, and Jaime's eldest son of 10 children, Pedro "Jaime" Rosso, began working at the store when he was 16 along with his brother Anthony.
When the younger Jaime left for college, he was sure he didn't want to follow his father's footsteps and go into the furniture business. He married his sweetheart, Evelia, and the newlyweds moved to Gilroy where he worked in community services and Evelia as a school teacher. He soon noticed the absence of a home furnishing store to serve the community and spoke to his wife about starting a business. The new Rosso's Furniture store opened on First street in Gilroy in 1978. The same year they welcomed the birth of their daughter Sarah, now a manager at the Rosso's store and a talented interior designer.
Today, over 30 years later with the help of family and the entire community, Rosso's furniture of Gilroy and Morgan Hill are the leading Home Decor Destinations in the South Bay Area and employ over 50 furniture industry professionals and interior designers. A pillar of the Gilroy & Morgan Hill communities, Rosso's consistently donates to local organizations and serves as a beacon of love and home for those who visit.
